So I'm at my local Brookshire's the other day looking for BBQ rubs (been trying some different stuff lately than the usual salt, pepper, garlic blend) and I came across Brookshires brand rubs.
They have one for beef, one for chicken and one for ribs. I picked up the beef and have seasoned a few steaks with it and outright taste tested it against other brands. And for tbe money, it's really good. Very strong and rich pepper and chili powder flavor.
Brookshire's has really come on strong lately as competitors like Walmart have lessened and lessened their specialty seasoning products (at least in my area).
Brookshire's also makes some of the best coffee I've ever had with its Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.

Plenty of good seasonings to put on high quality steak in addition to salt & pepper. These are called steak rubs or steak seasonings.

Competition steaks typically alays use salt, pepper, garlic base with some sort of beef rub over them and buttered as they cook. It makes for a little more complex flavor. It also makes for a very rich steak.

I taste tested this stuff against "competition grade" $17 per bottle Kosmos Cow Cover.
At $3.50 for the Brookshire's brand, it's damn near identical in flavor and spice. The Kosmos has a touch of sugar that the brookshires does not and has a touch less salt... But other than that, they are nearly exact matches on taste.
