BR to Oakdale recs?

I have to drive to Oakdale Saturday. Are there any good cafes or local places for a good “home” cooked meal?

The best you’re gonna do is Burger Inn. If you’re going to take I-10 to Hwy 165 I would stop at Rabideaux’s right south of the Interstate in Iowa and get a plate lunch. Then grab some fried chicken gizzards, a couple boudin balls and a fence post for the ride home.

If you're travelling 190 to 167, stop in Krotz Springs at Billy's for a pepper jack boudin wrap and pepperjack boudin ball for an appetizer, then stop in Opelousas at Mama's Fried Chicken on E Landry for the crunchiest fried chicken ever served in a brown paper bag.
