Traveling from Tennessee to Covington tomorrow to visit some family. Looking to get my crawfish fix while in town. Anybody got any recommendations for a kid friendly place with a good atmosphere that has boiled crawfish right now? Willing to go to madisonville if need be.

It’s not a sit down restaurant, but Bayou Boil N Geaux in Covington is my go to place for crawfish. Always good sized and seasoned well (a bit spicier than other places but that’s how I like them). It’s a drive thru crawfish stand so you can get them and go home or to a park, whatever works best.

My first thought for a Sunday and kid friendly is Chimes. I have not had their crawfish, however.

My most favorite crawfish here is at Mandeville Seafood. Jerry does an amazing job and has done so for many years. The atmosphere there is not ideal for crawfish. I always get them to go.

Depending on the time you are looking to eat, check into The Beachhouse in Old Mandeville. Tomorrow’s weather looks good for outside dining. I am not sure how long into the evening they will be boiling, so be aware of that.
