BlueStar ranges...a note on repair

The igniter on my BlueStar range went out on Friday (at an especially inconvenient time, right at the end of a long baking day). Once the oven cooled, removing the oven floor was very easy (four screws) and the igniter was perfectly accessible. Circuit tested fine, igniter was quickly found online for $80, and it will arrive at my house on Tuesday. (Another couple of screws will have it changed in a few minutes.)
So here's another vote of enthusiasm for an easily repaired appliance. When was the last time you could actually fix something in your own kitchen? The igniter crapped out after 4 years of VERY heavy use (probably equivalent to 8 years of "regular" residential use).
Quite a big difference from the ridiculously expensive circuit boards & electronics in most high-BTU ranges.

Did the igniter on the cooktop or the oven go out? I've had the igniters on my cook top go out and it took all of about five minutes to change them. The simplicity of the Blue Star range was a big reason I wanted one. That and unsealed burners.

Igniter for the oven....and it's pretty easy to change. Unlike the stovetop igniters, you have to buy the part. (Two free replacement stovetop igniters came with my range.)
