Now that it’s starting to get cooler out, I’m ready to fire up the gumbos and jambalayas, but as a transplant to the Carolina’s, I can’t ever find shite that I need.
I know there are now some online options but don’t know where to start. What’s the best place to get real andouille and tasso and the true ingredients I need that the butchers and grocery stores don’t have outside of Louisiana?
Thanks!

Best Stop
Poche's (Breaux Bridge)
Don's Specialty Meats
You can order online from most of the specialty meat kind of places. Here are links to a few.

For a good selection of basic ingredients, we have used NolaCajun in the past when we were living out of state and we’re happy with their turnaround time and customer service.

Tasso is fairly easy (and cheaper) to cure and smoke yourself. Pork shoulder trimmed and cut in large cubes, cured for a week, then smoked. Lasts at least a few months in the freezer. $2-3 / lb tasso vs $10 / lb
Andouille might not be worth the effort unless you are into sausage making already.
