I have to go with Baskin Robbin's Chocolate Fudge ice cream shake.

The employees don't even like making this one because it is so thick.

BTW, just the chocolate fudge ice cream is unbelievable.

I don't think Baton Rouge even has a Dairy Queen;

along with Dunken Donuts.

I have always told my wife we need to by a DD franchise and open in BR.

There actually is a Dairy Queen in BR. Well, if Central counts as BR haha. My girlfriend had never been to one before so we drove out there one night. I don't know that it was worth a twenty minute drive though. Not when Coldstone is within walking distance, anyway.

Hate to highjack the thread and talk about a milkshake place that is no longer around, but anybody else remember how good the shakes were at the place on Nicholson a few blocks North of campus? I think it was called the Bluebird Drive-In. It was still open when I was at LSU in the 70's. The chocolate chip shake was money.

That is correct. The Hopper's type place closed and Mickey's was in the same building. Damn fine shakes. Just so many years ago I can't remember the name. I think it was open there for many years.

Used to be a place on Jefferson Hwy, a drug store if I can remember correctly, that had a soda fountain. Had the best shakes and good sandwiches too.
