My parents are redoing their kitchen and installing and induction cooktop (they don't have gas run). What's the best cookware set to use for this? Does All-Clad make one?

And what is even the difference between a regular pot and one used on and induction cooktop, is the induction one magnetized?

I have an induction set up and all clad works quite well. Cast iron and enameled cast iron also works.

The only all clad pot that I have that didn't work is the asparagus pot so I gave it away.

Basically, if a magnet sticks to it, it will work.

No difference in the pots except that the pot has to be ferrometal (magnet has to stick to it) for it to work.

Buy a big magnet and take it with you when pot shopping.

I'll bet that much of their existing cookware will work just fine. The magnet test will tell. No reason to buy new cookware if the old/existing stuff works.

Ok thanks for the info. Their old cookware sucks but so does their cooking so...

Good to know about the magnet test though.
