Isn’t that some Jack Daniels SJW stuff?

I only say that because I went on a tour at Jack Daniels several years ago and sat down with one of the tour guides after the tour. He had been there for a long time. In the tour they mentioned Nathan Nearest and I asked him about it. He said that some lady did some “research” and determined that Jack Daniels was taught how to make whiskey by a local slave. Jack eventually employed the guy who was the brains behind the Lincoln County Process which Jack Daniels became famous for. This lady pressured Brown Foreman to recognize the slaves contribution to the history of Jack Daniels and she also happened to buy the farm that Nathan was raised on and plans to build a tourist stop and started her own whiskey company conveniently called Uncle Nearest. This could be someone’s shot at taking advantage of American Whiskeys popularity or it could be someone trying to right history. I have no idea.
