re: Anyone have an update on Istrouma?

Went yesterday.

The screened in area has been converted to a sitting area but I feel overall they have less seating than before. The area where the back bar is instead of the 3 picnic tables and one high chair table they only had the high chair table.

They at least had the front bar open which is an improvement and kept the lines down. Worst it got while I was there was about 6 people deep in the back patio. I didn't go outside and see the improvements but they still had the trailer for the bathroom as I saw that when I was walking in.

Service also changed as they give you the buzzer now instead of the number sign and you have to place the buzzer on these pads located on the tables. I found this a be a downgrade as the guy brought the wrong food to outle table multiple times. We also never received one pizza we had ordered and I was disappointed in the Boucherie which was my go-to before, there was like two strips of bacon that they had cooked and placed in the middle. Multiple squares had no bacon on them so it had to be broken up for each of the squares could get some.

Overall glad it is back open, it is a great spot to hang out and I'll be back. Beer was still mid at best. They had a hefe, pilsner, porter, amber, and sour on tap.

They had a ton of kids so I'm sure all of that is still out there with improvements. I know I saw two large screens showing football games out back as well and someone mentioned the heaters were better.

Entire staff seemed new. I had hoped the bar area would have expanded because it does get so backed up but as long as they have the front one open it shouldn't get too bad.
