Anyone ever do abalone chargrilled with garlic-butter?

I’ve never had abalone. Picking up a half dozen today and chargrilling was the first idea that popped in my head.


Thoughts?

They do in Korea, not sure if they use garlic butter though. Watch out if you cook them too much they can get tough.

Most likely you have small aquaculture abalone. Full-size wild caught very rarely come to market, and are ~ $100/lb.

Use your favorite browser and type in "aquaculture abalone recipe". Note the warnings about not overcooking.
