Skycastle is just garbage
Really not that surprising since it's the same owners as Slice.

True, but slice is at least half decent food. It is stupidly overpriced and terribly run, but it at least tastes okay. Skycastle food is just crap on top of it being awful.

Slice has good salads and a fairly decent beer list. Or at least used to. I haven't been in a few years. Everything else is pretty bad.

I enjoy the pizza enough. It is by no means the best in the city, but it is fine. The problem is that it is about 30-40% more expensive than what it should be for what you're getting. I haven't been there in over a year now though.

I guess you're right. It's not that it's bad pizza, it's just ridiculously overpriced average pizza.

That's interesting. Not sure how well it will do out there. It benefits a lot right now from the lakeview foot traffic.
A pizza place I've actually started to like is Pie's n Pints. The first two times I went, the pizza wasn't great so I hadn't gone in a while. Crust was always cooked very poorly. Went a couple of months back and the crust was very good. A good mix of crunch and softness. Haven't had a lot of their pizzas, but the Cuban was pretty damn good. Manager said they had noticed something was off with their ovens, so when they fixed that it really improved their pizza. Beer selection is strong there as well, but can get pricey. Good enough for a change when I'm not feeling my main pizza places at least. Though it is another that is probably more expensive than it should be.

I'll add Fancy's in that area as well - it's good and my friend owns it as well..(got to support the cause)

I enjoy Fancy's but it is another that is way overpriced for what you are getting. The fact their burger prices don't include fries is a little ridiculous. The El Guapo burger is very good, especially if you add a fried egg on top.

It'll do a decent weekday lunch with all the office buildings in the Colonnade, especially now that the Alabama Power office has opened there.
Should do okay at night with people just coming down the hill from Dolly Ridge.
Haven't been to Pies N Pints. Tried to go one night before a Barons game and it was packed.

It is real hit or miss on how busy it is. Some nights completely empty, others are completely packed. Rarely any reason to it (Barons games not withstanding).
