I sent my wife out to buy a turkey frying pot and she came back with a Loco boil/fry/steam pot kit that has a 30 qt pot and basket in it. They’re aluminum pots.

It has a warning label on it that says it’s not for frying turkeys. Why can’t I use this aluminum 30 qt pot for frying turkey? Can I just ignore the warning label or should we return this and smoke the turkey instead?

TIA

Thanks. After thinking about it more, maybe they put that warning label on there because it doesn’t come with the right accessories for turkey like the stand and hanger

If they say it is for frying turkeys they have to add $20 more to the price to cover all of the lawsuits from people who burn down their house.

It’s a requirement in the cooking industry for any fryer not certified as a “turkey fryer” to have that warning statement on the box.

For a unit to be sold as a turkey fryer it has to include extra safety accessories such as a gas shutoff feature such as a timer, pot with fill lines, etc…

There is nothing preventing you from using it as a turkey fryer other than the statement.

If you burn down your house though your insurance and the manufacturer have an out so just make sure you know what you are doing.
