A Vietnamese Farmers’ Cooperative in New Orleans

They've been growing at the end of Alcee Fortier Blvd. for ages now. My first glimpse of that was in the mid 80's.
I remember riding my motorcycle to the end of Alcee Fortier one afternoon and off to one side was a series of large makeshift pens with hogs enclosed and the garden area that was chock full of long rows of vegetables growing.
The Vietnamese men and women in those wide brimmed straw hats, white shirts, dark pants and usually going barefoot carrying water in 5 gallon buckets suspended off the ends of poles perched on their shoulders.
