This pic is Anna's Bottom in Natchez Mississippi.
Somewhere near there is a deep gas well recently drilled by a stock pumping outfit called Mainland Resources. It's supposed to be on one of the islands, maybe Buena Vista island. That is going to be under water for a long, long time. I believe it even had some water issues in 2010.

Thanks for those aerial pictures. I'm hampered everywhere I go to try to get good pictures. The scene from Naked Gun comes to mind as the police turn sightseers away. This is a once in a lifetime event and all I seem to get is "Nothing to see here. Move along . . . ."
I need a helicopter :p

I took some more pics today. You can really see the difference in water level over a week:
Steve Stephens Memorial Plaque, photo taken Saturday a week ago, 7 May 2011.
Steve Stephens Memorial Plaque, taken today, 14 May 2011. It's now totally submerged.
River is expected to rise here by another 5 feet.

I have a friend that works at promise, he has to stay and watch the place during all of this. He brought a boat from home just in case. I think he was parking his truck on the levee
