NOLA Levees are closed...

They must not be enforcing it too much yet. My husband is leaving work in Avondale and just called to tell me that there are a bunch of people sitting on the levee this morning fishing right from the top. I was wondering if that levee was going to be shut down soon like ours.

Just saw some EJLD police with lights flashing telling walkers to get off the levee in Harahan. There were walkers and bikers earlier this morning.

I think that they are concerned about people falling into the water with the current and all. If people walking on the levees are going to damage them and cause a breech, then God help us all.

Yeah, but in Harahan the water isn't even visible.

Considering we can easily see the water in River Ridge, I'd assume you can see the water in Harahan (at least at some points).

Where I am the river is almost a 1/2 mile away from River Road. There is still a section of old levee between the river and the new levee.
