I have heard that this has been requested. I heard Bobby J say that the State has asked COE for at least 3 days notice. I have heard that it will be opened anywhere b/w Saturday and Tuesday.

But has the COE definitively and officially stated that Morganza is going to be opened?

Okay, now that we've established it is NOT the BC, has the COE officially stated Morganza will be opened?

We'll according to WBRZ this morning they will have too if they don't want LSU and most of Baton Rouge to flood. So you can assume that's one big Hell yes they will open it, officially or not officailly!.

According to the head guy at the ACOE, the trigger point for opening Morganza will be when the levels of 1.5kcfps hit Red River Landing.

It will be open by Monday you can bet.

So, while all indications are that it will be opened, the COE has not come out and officially stated it will be opened.

I heard sat at earliest, tues at latest. That was earlier this morning though. Things are changing fast. Jindal is about to or maybe is speaking already about the situation.

25,000 expected to flood when Morganza Spillway opens

Jindal said, “We know the Corps will make the decision to open the Morganza Spillway when the trigger point of 1.5 million cubic feet per second at the Red River Landing gauge is reached. The Corps said they expect this trigger to be reached around by Saturday."

As of 13:15 CDT on 11 May, it was flowing 1.3 million cfps in Baton Rouge.
