What happened to Lootie since Katrina?

Serious question. Did he fade into NOLA obscurity? Did he go to jail? Did he move to Baton Rouge for Gustav?

There was a post about an update on him on the OT, try searching for it.

I'll search for it. I wasn't sure if the OT was familiar with Lootie

Lootie is known around the world my friend. I actually read an article on him somewhere on the net that gave his real name. It described how famous he had become due to that one photo. I think his name was Tron or something like that. Let me see if i can find it again.

Last I remember he was working for the U.N. or something, Goodwill Ambassador if I remember correctly. Hear he's done wonders in Afghanistan.

The day Lootie becomes a goodwill ambassador is the day i will drink corrosive acid
But I love the farks of him, I was just curious if anything significant happened to the guy

I thought he got an advertising deal for a sports company with T.O.

He also did a little work at NASA, when he could...

We tried to raise funds for The Looter statue to be erected in Lootie's honor before the end of last year. It was going to be put in front of the old St. Roch Market on St. Claude Ave. in New Orleans. I really thought it was going to work out. But we ended up raising only $136 plus 12 Heinekens. He thanked us for trying and moved on to other activities like you've seen above.

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who helped us last year in trying to raise funds for The Looter statue...The Alabama gymnastics team, Charm City Cakes and the many church organizations that held bake sales. I believe Yurintroubl, Sawfiddle and BigEasy each donated the Heinekens that were collected. Maybe the statue idea was still too soon after Katrina. I kept the statue design and specs drawings, so perhaps another time might be better and the idea will be supported by more people. I wonder if Obama might have an interest in helping us?
Here are some pictures from our scrapbook when we tried the first fundraising effort...

Oh YEAH!...The Panty Girls! Sorry Big E...I couldn't find the original thread. But you're right...those panty droppers raised a good portion of the funds! They're very good friends of yours, aren't they?

We certainly don't want to upset any of our benefactors, by failing to mention them for the good deeds they have bestowed upon us
