Hey farkers, I just bought Photoshop 6.0 on eBay for $28. How does 6.0 compare to the newer versions? I'm a noob at photoshopping, will I miss out on anything by using the old software? Thanks in advance!

a lot. CS4 is the current version, which includes Photoshop 11. Photoshop 6 came out in 2000 :(
does it have an eye with a magnifying glass on the icon? I think that might be the photoshop I started on.

Do ya'll know if there is an upgrade I can buy that will upgrade me from 6.0 to the current version? That would be a hell of alot cheaper than buying the full new version...

if you just want to cut, paste, mask, clone, etc. to do some farks like the ones on here, it should be more than enough.
If you want to do more, or have access to all the new features for whatever it is you want to do, then upgrading would make sense.
I'm pretty sure you can only upgrade from the previous version. Otherwise, gotta buy it full price. If you're not going to use it for profit, I would just download it. If you stand to make money from it what you're gonna use it for, you should shell out the dough.

Thanks for the help. I think I'm gonna try out the 6.0 and see how it is, and if there's something that it won't do, I'll upgrade at that time. I'm thinking with me being a complete novice at this, that 6.0 will do everything I want it to and more.

You're honestly better using GIMP (free download) than a photoshop thats outdated by 9 versions.
