any pointers or tutorials you've found on the internet regarding vectors,
Practice is about all I can really say. I use photoshop 7 for all of the work you guys see on here. I have done hundreds of single and multi color vexel (pixel work done to mimic a vector) style pictures.
When I started there really was no tuts anywhere, so I messed around with the program for a long time to see what each tool (filter, application, etc) could do. When I figured out what each could do, I started making sigs for a gaming squad. After awhile I started making wall papers and such. You can go to Sigsbyjeremy on photobucket and see some of the stuff I have done. Alot of my work goes unseen by others, I just do it for practice.
As far as advice to give, start simple with one color. Then progress to multicolors and harder images. When I see an image I know exactly how I would draw it in a single or multi colors. It just takes time to go from my head to the screen. I did a tut many years ago on how I do my style of vexel art. I really don't know if it's still up, but if you go to my photobucket account there is a folder named tuts. See if you can get an idea with that.
I am happy to answer any questions from anybody on how I do what I do. All I ask for is one thing--I need the LSU font that everyseems have now---thecajunfarmer@yahoo.com

When it's done. I put the mark on there, because I don't want you to use a half finished piece.

This is how I do my work:
1. Find the desired image
2. Render it to eliminate the background
3. Posterize the image- this is a key step. If you just use two colors, you lose a lot of the detail. I usually pick 7-9.
4. Change to greyscale
5. Individually decide which color to make each area. Clean up the edges of section. This is the hardest part which I do with pens by hand.
6. Use a program to convert bitmap to vector
Yes, I'm sure there are easier ways to do this. But this is the process I use. I figured it out by practice. If there is a tuturial, I have never seen it.
I would work on this but I am currently working on something else- if all goes as planned, it will be up tomorrow. Also, Orphan and Nortizzle look like they are doing an awesome job.

Tim- I don't use filters, I just go on how it "feels". I draw everything. As far as using multiple colors--you are right in a way. I think he needs to start easy and progress from there. I do like what you are doing and how you go about doing it.
There's that word again...

Why? It would look like he was washing a large window. If you mean the other arm - Well then it would just look stupid.

I struggled with whether to do this. Everyone else is doing such a great job. I don't want to be selfish either- I am aware that others can make LSU vectors too. In fact, there are folks much more talented than myself on this board.
Still I got a lot of requested to do a version. And this has the potential to be seen by a lot of individuals. A little shameless self-promotion couldn't hurt.
So without further ado, here is my monochromatic version. I might add the color later. My apologies if any feels I am stealing their spotlight.
