Ok as a Fark Rookie I need a lil education with Gifs PLEASE

Ok using Gimp2 how would I work with individual layers of the Gif.. I did one where I put text on the "background" layer of a very short Gif.. and I held in the entire gif when viewed...
But I try that with larger Gifs and it only pops up briefly.. like so
If you see what Im talking about... the Nebraska just pops in momentarily. Im just starting with this so any help would be greatly appreciated...

You probably only had "Nebraska" on a few short frames instead of all or most of the frames. I don't have much experience with GIMP, but I'm pretty sure it's similar to PS where you can see which layers are visible (with the eye icon) and which aren't.

NM answered my own question
yes I know shaky
I like this one better until I can steady my hand enough to do better job of face placement

You can use the arrow keys to make small adjustments with independent frames in PS. I've never used GIMP, but I'm sure it has the same ability.
