Obviously, the fark challenge was a big failure at getting the great farkers of this site to compete. However, Catahoula submitted several farks all of which were very good.
based off of votes tallied (all 4 of them
) Catahoula wins with category one CirqueduFarke and category 2 ChessSurrealism
Congratulations.
and thanks for participating

Congratulations.

Well, I applaud your efforts for trying. I enjoyed the challenge as I'm sure others who participated did too. I hope you will continue to participate and have fun with us on the Fark Board. Nevertheless...Despite your best efforts, you did fail miserably and you must now take your whipping like a man. Don't fight it...You might actually enjoy it!

I apologize for my seeming lack of participation. Truth be told, I had a monster image in process... was going with a "Dante's Levels of Hell" revised from an LSU perspective. It was just a massive undertaking that, due to my perfectionist nature, was fast clashing with my increased hours at work...
If I can complete it to my satisfaction in the next few weeks, I'll post it under the banner of "better late than never"...
Just want you to know that I wasn't cold shouldering your noble cause...

Likewise for me, I've recently been really busy and preoccupied with other things and didn't get a chance to complete the idea I had in mind. Maybe, one bored and sleepless night, I'll complete what I had in mind; or maybe I'll just wait until the next Fark Board Challenge, hoping I have a chance to participate.
Congrats to Catahoula on his valiant and noble effort put forth to capture the gold!
Bleeding purple, despite being a complete and utter failure~ you're still alright in my book

well guys, I would love to see what yall have come or could come up with. This board has some of the best farks I have ever seen. I guess my timiing was just bad. maybe I will try again in the future.

The formats that seem to work best are the Fark Tennis Match, Theme Fark (unlikely movie posters, what's wrong with this, etc), or Alteration of a Single image.

NC has a valid point here. There are some single images that are excellent for farking.
Making a minimum of eight images work was very challenging...I think that was Bleeding Purple's point - Make it challenging. But in retrospect, I think that might have been why there were not many submissions. I'd love to see the one's Yurintroubl and BigEasy were working on.
Anyway, back to the single image idea. Let's get some more work out of the single images...I loved the fat lady. The old gal has a lot of mileage potential on the Fark Board.

Yes, the point was to CHALLENGE all of yall as I know you all have the skills and creativity to pull it off.
Admittedly, I had aspirations to post a submission but the best I have been able to get Gimp to do is alter a single image. I need more practice.
anyway what is a Fark Tennis Match?
as far as the single images I foresee the use of several for upcoming pregame jabs. Fat girl and Cody at AL need to have a little wedding pic for starters.

I think another problem with the challenge was that there were not enough background source pics to use.
Good idea though and nice try.

Tennis match is when you post a background image and people add things into it, re-post image, and then another person takes that re-post, adds to it, re-posts, etc...
You end up with a cluster fark image but usually very funny. I'll look through the threads to see if I can locate a previous tennis match for you to see how it's done

Here are some examples of a tennis match...
This is an image that was posted at the beginning of a thread.
One by one...people joined in and added images to it. This is the image about halfway into the thread.
This is the image pretty much played out to the end.
Take a close look at the final image. There's a tremendous amount of activity going on. It can get pretty crazy since someone can add an image that will send it into a completely different direction. We should do another one soon.

This was another tennis match we enjoyed doing. Someone posted an image of Galveston Bay near Seabrook, TX. The original was a mundane image without the three obvious characters in the foreground.
Poster after poster kept adding something to the image.
And then this was pretty much near the end of the thread.
One basic rule we stick to is to start with and keep the image at 800 pixels in width. That allows a decent amount of room for farking creativity.
To quote Big Easy, this is what a "cluster fark" looks like!

That was one of my favorite ones!!! A "last request" by SeabrookTiger before the hurricane hit
EDIT:
Another basic rule (simple courtesy, actually) is that while farking on farking is OK - Poser on Polar Bear on Shuttle for example... Farking OVER farking is usually considered poor form.

Yep, I like this one too; but I think my all time favorite was the pic that the guy posted of his house and he wanted to see what it would look like with a fountain in front. We sure did do a number on his house, that's for sure

And so it began.... Help please.
We finished the back yard few weeks later:
