LSU GEAUX Font History
I thought this might be of interest here since many designs on this board include the GEAUX font. I didn't realize there were three different fonts:
GEAUX Regular
GEAUX Extended
GEAUX Depth
Enjoy the article.

I always thought the font looks good with short words or letters. "LSU" looks good set in it, as does "TIGERS". But when you start setting multiple words or even sentences in it like I see sometimes, it looks terrible. It's a display font, meant for titles only, but it doesn't even have lowercase letters.
I just think it's way overrated, especially when people are overusing it.
ETA:
Maybe someone should point them to this site

I don't understand why they didnt make the tail of the "U" go to the right? Like this.
Anybody think this looks bad or is it more artistic/unique to the left? Personally I think the u in the pick above frames it better.

While that looks better as a logo, the U wouldn't be consistent with the rest of the font package. Look at "G" and "S" - both are typically rounded at the bottom like a "U" but the font package sets curved corners at the upper left and bottom right of curved letters and squared corners at the top right and bottom left. It makes sense how the "U" is when you look at the font package as a whole.
On another note, anyone have the "GEAUX" font package they'd care to share?
