that fleur de lis design is done by a friend of mine and if you want to use it for a tattoo, you have to get her permission, it's a copyrighted design. It's the original fleur de lis with the eye that everyone else is copying. She's at Lagniappe Frame Shop and her name is Stacey Blanchard.

Your friend needs to learn how to embed a copyright in a digitally uploaded image. It is a very nice piece, and it will get abused. The moment it is on the internet without that information embedded - it is public property.

Jeez - didn't we just go through all this

If your friend did the original design, then kudos to her. I did this one from scratch, so if anyone wants to use this one for a tattoo, t-shirt, baby seal skin sweater vest, whatever, then be my guest.

Is it possible to go into that text format and remove the embedded message without ruining the picture?

I would like to get a baby seal skin sweater vest, can you tell me where would be the best place to purchase one?

nope - there are ways around it, but removing the text line isn't one of them. And as long as the original upload onto the net has that information, it creates a timeline if it ever becomes a legal issue....

a baby seal sweater vest? that's sick. but anyway lsu doesn't own the eye or the colors used and the school isn't mentioned anywhere on the design. westgate high school in new iberia has a tiger mascot and their colors are purple and gold. is lsu going to go after them?

Does the copyright mean that no one is allowed to use the idea of a tiger inside of a fleur de lis, or allowed to use that specific image?

If the former, than feel free to use this to tatoo yourselves; however I had a change of heart and do not condone for the use of baby seal skin sweater vests, but if you must then go ahead.

If the latter, suck-it and sue me.
