Thanks for the input Rattlehead. I am looking at this and can't figure out where to look for it. I think GIMP does just about everything photoshop does but often calls it a different name. This shows my dialog box on the left when I use the "Color Picker" tool to choose a color, and well as the color window that opens up to select a color. Is this the correct place to look for it or would it be some where else. Maybe with saving the file?
I did find where it has the word "dithering" (and it's a great word by the way), is under "Blend" I beleive is called gradients in PS. I'll try fiddling with it and see if it does anything different but it seems like it is the wrong spot because I'm not using the tool.

If you are working with a RGB image, it will convert to an indexed image when you save to GIF with the default settings.
MENU: Image > Mode > Indexed... will allow you to convert while specifying palette and dithering options.

Ha ha haaaaa now we're talking! Thanks for the help brother. I can't tell you how many times I have created a .gif knowing the out come would make it almost not worth putting in the effort. I almost want to go back to all the .gifs I created and covert them to dithered,....almost.

As beneficial as that would be to the "up-n'-coming" farking community - I don't think Rattlehead hates himself enough to decide to do something like that.
