how do i use gimp to fark a picture of UGA jerseys to different colors?

i want to make a picture of what uga would look like wearing all white jerseys and helmets and pants
can it be done boys?
or will this sad excuse of a photo have to work?

You can start by posting the original source picture.
In gimp:
use the free selection tool to select each area in which you will want to alter the color. This will be tedious but the closer you zoom the better it will look. After selecting each area respectively copy and paste as a new layer and give it a specific name. If two layers are the same color (even though they aren't congruent) you can make them a single layer by right clicking on the title of said layer and clicking 'merge layer down'.
This is important because when you alter colors it is hard to replicate it exactly multiple times.
To alter the color of the layers (easier when going to white) make sure the layer in question is selected, find 'colors' on the toolbar then go to 'colorize'. You will have the ability to ajust the hue, saturation, and lightness. Increase the lightness almost all the way up till it looks right. You can also play with the saturation if it helps.
This is the simplest way in gimp I can explain it. If you need more help let me know

i dicked around for a bit and this is my best attempt yet
