I am painting a piece of grey slate with the following to hang outside on the deck. Any cool paint or stencil ideas of how I can do it? Let's see what anyone can come up with, much appreciated, I am creatively challenged!!

This is kind of a difficult request. Even if a really impressive design was created, it would still but up to your proficiency as an artist to copy it.
I would probably spend some time find a font you really liked. There are a lot of different free ones at:
DaFont
Type out your message and print a large copy. Then tape it to a piece of cardboard, posterboard or some other thick type of paper. Use an exacto knife to cut out the letters and you have a paint stencil.
And then you have to really use a stencil type font because you would not be able to maintain the closed portion of any letter (think "e" or "d").
It isn't easy but I really can't think of any other way. Or ask an artist friend to paint if for you and live with whatever they design.

Fark Board/ Graphics Experts,
Any idea on this particular font style linked below? I just need to recreate it in an .EPS format but all I can find is font called "Helvetica Light "[/b[/i]]and it is not a perfect match such as the G being different but it is close.
LINK-Original Tagline Trying To Recreate
I also went to whatthefont.com but it did not recognize the text 100%...
UPDATE: I have made some progress matching the font here is my closest match so far but the G is not same for some reason. Must be different font style in the same family???

somebody on another board figured out my issue so I think I am good for now...
The only difference is I think they manufactured the Trademark ® to match the R in the text rather than use the standard ®, as the standard ® doesn't match as you can see. The text itself is indeed Univers Light
