let me know what they say... this is an awesome idea

I'm not sure how else to do this, there's not a 'template' so to speak for custom contacts. It seems to me that the way to go about this (or the way they should be going about this) is to tell you how they normally do custom contact lenses and give you the specifications, etc.

-Needs to be ##x## in size.
-No more than X number of colors
-etc

I'd ask them what they'd need exactly... because they're going to need a source file for their 'printing'... this is basically a mock-up of what you're looking for (from what I gather)
