Does anyone know a decent school to go to for graphic design?

For photoshop and whatnot? Sorry if this belongs on the OT, but I figured a couple of you must work with Photoshop and the like a hell of a lot (Hoodoo, Rattle, Freek, etc), and quite possibly took classes, so please humor me. I really enjoy creating/editing things in Photoshop, but I have a limited knowledge because what I know has only come through me fooling around in it.
I went to technical college for computer networking, it hasn't panned out and I really don't enjoy working god damn tech support after graduating college for networking. Not utilizing my education whatsoever..
Would an online college be worth a damn for this?

Everything I learned I picked up off of this board by asking or watching tutorials on You Tube. It would be cool to get paid to do this, but I have a feeling they won't pay me to make unpleasant images of Mark Richt and Nick Saban, but if you know of any jobs like this, let me know!

Yeah and I should be using this time to get more certs, but reading books about networking
I can't do it. I try to read but get distracted.. And if I don't get distracted, I totally forget what I read just a few hours later.
I'm just beginning to realize that maybe my choice in networking was not the right one.

Many of the folks here were self-taught. Design is a skill that takes a practice. If you are serious about doing this for a living, it is more important to be awesome than have a degree.
I have a friend who works as a digital artist. His portfolio is incredible. It encompasses much more than photo-editing. But it took years of hard work to get to that point. He works for an art studio and does free-lance commissions on the side. Even with his talent, he had trouble finding steady work. There is a wide talent pool.
I see the material a company like ESPN puts out regularly and think I could do most of their designs. I would have no idea how to go about getting that type of position though.
