So I may be losing some cool points as far as my rep is concerned here but I need some help. My wife is trying to make some invitations for my brothers wedding. I've dabbled a little with word and the quality just sucked.

Below is a perfect example of what she wants. It's the one one the very top. Our last name starts with a W, so that letter is perfect and just needs the letter to be in a deep navy blue. No names or writing needed, just the W with the border. Any help would be appreciated.

What colors do you want the box and the letter?

Colors look different on different computers based on what color profile the monitor is set to, but photoshop matches colors digitally from an embedded code in an image.

Google image search for a small or medium sized image of what color you want used and post the swatch here so we can do this thing right for ya.

this is the exact color i'm looking for. I was thining the W and the boxes on the side to be blue. And the box around the W being black. The size of the invitation is 5.5 X 8.5.

thank trouble, i was hoping you would be the one to take this task.

If you need anything else just let me know.

Cool... I'll work on it this evening

And I'm glad I asked, because

(for the W and the small boxes to the sides, right?)

would have been hard to describe in words.

The only things you want black are the 2 concentric squares around the W, correct?

Ok, I know it needs shifted just a pinch to the right, but other than that...

...Does it look alright to you? This image is at 72pixels/inch resolution. It translates to the 5.5x8.5 you wanted. Print it up and see if it leaves you the right amount of space for what you need to print.

Are you using this as a sample for your wedding planner? ...or are you going to print the invitations yourself (at Kinko's or whatever)? If you are going to print from this directly, I'll mock it up again at a higher resolution... Maybe even do the W in Illustrator for cleaner edges.

Find out from the people who are printing it what format they need it saved as and if I should include a color profile.

I may have to zip it and email it to you.

It looks great I didn't really notice that it needs to be shifted once it is printed. We are actually trying to print these ourselves and it isn't going to be a rough draft. The only thing is once printed that blue is so dark it appears black. Would it be too hard to change the color to the pic below. But other than that it is amazing. We really appreciate it so much.
