Vick’s Kennel Club
Hitting 1: Holy crap, my bats are filthy. Jose Abreu and Bautista lead the way at $39 apiece and will provide some serious thump. Justin Upton has monster power, and I am not really concerned about Petco because his homers are no-doubters. I overpaid for my boy, Nolan Arenado, but I believe he will finish in the top 30 with a near 30/100/.300 line. Brett Gardner was an absolute steal at $5 and Wil Myers also was a great value at $4. They fill out the utility slots very nicely. Travis d’Arnaud could be a top five catcher. Oh yeah, I have 2014 studs Michael Brantley and Anthony Rendon as well as a star with no coordination in Hunter Pence. By May, I have almost no doubt that this is the premier lineup in the league.
Pitching 11: My starting pitching has Corey Kluber. I am really happy with the $1 and $2 guys I grabbed, especially Drew Hutchison and Dallas Keuchel, but I will have to strike gold with two of them for this staff to pan out (or have Keuchel repeat). I feel pretty comfortable about my closer situation, and I will make some ground on saves as the season progresses with Jansen returning.
Best picks: Jose Abreu $39, Justin Upton $22, Brett Gardner $5, Drew Hutchison $2
Worst picks: Nolan Arenado $26, Kevin Gausman $3
Overall 4: I really like my team a lot now, and I am curious if my starting pitching can hold up. I may need to deal an outfielder for a starter, but this team has a ceiling where it could run away with the league if Hutchison and/or Hahn break out.
Papz
Hitting 6: Jimmy Rollins, Shin-Soo Choo, and Tyson Ross are classic Papz players. Only Chase Headley and Josh Hamilton are missing. His squads are always veteran-laden with Pujols, Sandoval, Miggy, and Votto. The bats will compete on a daily basis, but I am concerned about the health of this team. I was not buying Votto this year, but man, he looks great so far. I hate Kipnis, but I know Papz did not really want him either. I am not really buying the Odor breakout if he is hitting at the bottom of the Rangers lineup. That could cost him a ton of plate appearances and really restrict his counting stats. Andrus is not good, but he is a steal at $3. Marte was a big purchase, and I completely get if he believes that he is a top 30 player this year.
Pitching 6: This is the deepest staff that I have ever seen on a Papz squad with four double-digit priced starters and four closers. This is the year that Wainwright is supposed to fall off the cliff, but $13 is a solid price for someone defied logic before and been one of the best in the game. Alex Wood is the top pitcher on this staff, and I wish I had the cash to bid on him. I think he finishes as a top 10 NL pitcher. Tyson Ross throws his slider over 40% of the time, so I am very scared about his injury risk. I know he was working on a third pitch in Spring Training, but I am not sure if it will enter his repertoire. Nathan Eovaldi could be boom or bust, and I view him as more of a stash even though he has good stuff.
Best picks: Albert Pujols $19, Alex Wood $11, Jayson Werth $5, Elvis Andrus $3
Worst picks: Jason Kipnis $15, Jimmy Rollins $9, Neftali Feliz $6
Overall 3: I think this is definitely one of the strongest teams in the league even if I ranked the hitting and pitching components around league average. Miguel Cabrera should lead this team of savvy vets near the top of the standings.

Mr. Wiseguy
Hitting 4: I think this lineup has an above average option at every position, except first base. While I am totally sold on Brandon Moss, first base is so loaded that he probably will not be top 10 at the position. Yan Gomes, Brian Dozier, and Kyle Seager are three guys that I am a huge fan of this year. MWG drafted Troy Tulowitzki is to no one’s surprise, and I like the pick in a roto league. Tulo is a $50+ player if you could get 150 games out of him. I doubt he avoids the DL, but he could be the top SS in only 120 games. While Matt Kemp and Nelson Cruz are not worry free due to their new parks and Kemp’s hips, they only cost $32 combined, and I think they combine for 50 bombs. This lineup would play in a 10 man league.
Pitching 9: Masahiro Tanaka could be great, but I am little worried if he is not throwing with his 2014 velocity. He is a skilled pitcher, but I need to more from him before I can really form an opinion on how he pitches with his rehabbed elbow. Anibal Sanchez was a bargain at $6, and I think he rebounds from a disappointing 2014 season. Even if he does not reach his 2013 levels of dominance, Anibal will be worth the cost. I am not sure why Matt Moore was drafted. Aroldis Chapman is on his own level. He struck over half the batters he faced last year. That is insane. Even if he only throws 60-70 innings, he can dramatically improve a team’s ratios. While he should be good for 40 saves, I almost want him more for the ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts.
Best picks: Kyle Seager $19, Jacob deGrom $11, Yan Gomes $9, Anibal Sanchez $6
Worst picks: Carlos Gomez $138, Leonys Martin $12, Lance Lynn $11
Overall 2: Even though MWG already dealt Greg Holland for an OF upgrade in Jacoby Ellsbury, he still has one of the most well-rounded teams in the league. I really like a ton of his guys. If Tulowitzki can stay healthy, then this could be the best in the league.
PSU2LSU - Nyjer Please
Hitting 5: This squad is certainly not devoid of star power. Goldy, Braun, Carlos Santana, and Colorado CarGo highlight the bats. Gattis, Alvarez, and LaRoche should provide 25+ homers each. Souza could be a bargain at $3 after seeing his projections approach 20-20 levels. I do not like what he did at second base by buying both Utley and Gyorko for $4 each. You could have just got some Neil Walker in your life for $7. Overall, this squad should be strong in everything offensively, but steals.
Pitching 4: Felix and Cueto form a nasty one-two punch even though King Felix came at a hefty $37 price tag. Shields is a very solid SP3 for your team and the Padres. I am not worried much about his age and marginal decline in skills. Pineda should round out the core of the rotation well as long he stays healthy. The save situation looks fine to me, but nothing spectacular. I think Papelbon keeps his job in Philly, and I am predicting Huston Street to lead the league in saves (the bold part is that he stays healthy).
Best picks: Carlos Gonzalez $19, Steven Souza $3
Worst picks: Felix Hernandez $37, Jedd Gyorko + Chase Utley $8
Outlook 1: I really like this team, but I struggled to find good or bad values either way. I felt like the market value was paid across the board (outside of a couple picks), but PSU used his $260 to build a very solid contender. Even without huge bargain, I think it could be one of the best teams in the league.

Thanks for taking the time for the writeup. Great as usual.
My plan was to get Neil Walker but I didn't want to pay the price. Of course like you mentioned I got two very mediocre fantasy 2nd baseman for $8 versus want Walker went for in the draft.
Thanks for the lofty predictions. The draft didn't go as I planned but it rarely does. As most people I had to change my draft philosophy on the fly.

VKC calls V Mart old, then he goes and tweaks his knee.
Coincidence? I think not.

I don't have a problem accepting a good trade
You know who I want, we will get there eventually

If you can trade two aces for bats, then you will be right in the mix.
I will probably give you of one of Michael Brantley or Justin Upton for an ace.
Sorry about V-Mart. I don't wish injuries on anyone.
Also, I think I have my past predictions and the league history stored somewhere. I may have it between TD bookmarks and Word documents, so I could compare predictions to results over the past three years.
My worst pick ever is when I said Mike Trout was a waste of $3 because I thought he would not get called up for awhile and scuffle for a little bit. He was pretty good.

Good work. Probably wouldn't have spent 14 on Zimmerman if I knew I'd get Wright for 9.. But like having his flexibility anyway. Hopefully won't need to play him much once Rusney is up. which should be soon. Not sure where your confidence in the flying Hawaiian comes from.. In either production or health. Only a matter of time IMO.

He was a former fantasy crush. It is more that I really liked him five years ago.

Thomas, saw the offer. 90% gonna reject, but I might think about it until tomorrow.
