After a great round one presented by Turtle Wax, Grandma's Molasses, and Comcast Dail-Up internet we are GLAD to move onto round two.

And with that...

With the 33rd pick in the NFL Draft the Houston Texans select..

Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State

Yup. This is happening. Been said that David will follow Derek to be his backup...well welcome home David

No for real tho it was a tough decision between Carr and Moses, as there are QBs to be had in later rounds. The Texans were just scared there would be a run of Qbs in the 2nd and they wouldn't get one they wanted. It's no secret that QB is probably the Texans top priority and they would have taken one with the first pick had it not been for one of the top prospects in years being in this class. Carr is considered a top-5 and maybe even top-3 QB in this class and I don't think he will have the same problems as his brother in Houston. David got screwed, I do feel like he had talent, but a shite team and shite o-line made him gun-shy, and you could say, ruined his career. I'm sure Houston fans and the Carrs alike would love this pick.

The Redskins select safety Jimmie Ward, NIU.

The Skins need back end help like no other. With the top corners flying off the board they pounce on Ward, a safety that internet scouts love and seem to believe could go in the 1st.

sorry, I've been in class all day.

With the 35th pick in the NFL Draft the Cleveland Browns select, Chris Borland, LB, Wisconsin

The Browns were disappointed when the Redskins swooped in and stole Jimmie Ward right from under them, but Borland isn't a bad consolation. Some may call this a reach but the Browns need ILB help and I doubt he would have reached the third round. What Borland lacks in size and athleticism he makes up for in football IQ and instincs, which could make for a dangerous skill-set if he stays committed. Draws comparisions to Zach Thomas, if he can live up to that the Borwns got a great leader in the middle of that young, up and coming D.

The Browns would have taken an RB there, probably Carlos Hyde from Ohio State, but that's purely IMO.

No RBs taken in the first 35 picks

Interesting, and probably how this draft and most will go in the future. RBs have such a low value right now unless they are the next AP.

Well I probably would have gone with RB had they not signed Tate. I just feel RBs are so devalued in todays game. I felt they could get an equally good RB later in the draft if they take one at all. And the LB position is starting to get thin as well. So it was more value of the position than anything. But I gotcha.

The Browns signed Carlos Dansby at LB as a stop gap, but yeah they could go either LB or RB.

I would think it would be RB.

Yeah but he's 32 and like I said there are plenty of good RBs to be had if the Browns want one later. 35 is a premium spot to pick so I feel like adding a RB in solid class, especially when they have a very good one already, would be a waste.

With the 36th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select...

Carlos Hyde, Running back from THE Ohio State University

This is more of an insurance pick than anything. The Raiders already have Darren Mcfadden (injury prone) and recently signed MJD (injury prone). Hyde will likely enter the season 3rd on the depth chart, but may see significant playing time this season if both of the top backs are forced to miss time. DMC is signed to a one year deal and MJD could be released next season with no cap impact, meaning Hyde will likely be their #1 running back in 2015 - if not sooner.

Ideally, the Raiders would've liked to have landed Jernigan with this pick or another defensive lineman. They were also CLOSE to pulling the trigger on a QB (he will remain nameless for now).

The Raiders have now added Schaub, MJD, DMC, James Jones, Mike Evans and now Carlos Hyde to help improve their offense.
