you got decent value, i wouldnt have done it though. That's a pretty big hole to fill on the offensive side, figured youd at least get a bat

Why the frick would I want Alfonso Soriano at this point?

Rafael Soriano will have some serious value by the off-season. Maybe sooner if the Riverabot finally breaks down.

I think my offense is going to be OK. Nobody is really even hitting yet and I am competing in all of the hitting categories that Hamilton would be providing help in.

Obviously i wouldn't have made the deal if Hamilton was healthy.

not sure why you'd want either, really

Strictly based on potential value if Rivera gets hurt or retires this off-season.

big hit to your staff.

I love Hamilton, but his injuries are a problem. Not sure if you plan on competing this year. By the time he gets back it may be too late

on paper it looks fair, but im not sure either team got better considering it was straight pitcher for hitter swap with no patch work in between

Honestly it was a move for next year, but I think I can hold my own this year with a few guys coming off the DL. I've gotten off to a crappy start, and although it's been one week, I think it will not hurt that bad this year while making me better next year.

Haven't completely sold out or anything like that but it definitely was something I had to do. I wouldn't have been able to get a guy like that any other time IMO.

Well, even you said after the draft that my pitching was going to be a concern. The only way someone can improve pitching is by either trading away some hitting or trading draft picks.

I figure the best way to do it is to trade some hitting that I can't even use right now in return for lots of saves and a strong starter that is keeper worthy.

I can't see it making my team worse, especially over the next two months. Plus, i was getting a little tired of watching Hamilton go on the DL over and over again.

I have Romo and Cabrera that's probably way more then he's been traded for. I'll try Romo and Billy Butler

yeah i know, im just surprised neither of yall added a mid level hitter(in your case) or a stop gap pitcher in his case.

just kind of drastic on both ends. Obviously i think your hitting is in better shape to trade a hitter than his is to trade a pitcher.

that just how i would have done it. which doesnt mean anything. just commenting
