Conor Jackson, OF, Diamondbacks (Roto: Rd. 27, H2H: Rd. 22)
Didn't we go through this last year?
Jackson was clearly on his way up. He had just set career highs in batting average, at-bats and runs scored, and his power numbers figured to follow as he entered his prime.
Valley fever is worse than it sounds. It isn't a case of homesickness, and it isn't a reference to Sweet Valley High. It's a fungus in the lungs, and it's debilitating, making Jackson's numbers before his diagnosis last year understandable and, in a funny way, impressive. Some people take months to recover from it, which explains the lengthy DL stint.
But he's back now and proving it on the diamond, first by hitting .425 with two home runs in the Dominican Republic winter league and then by continuing that performance into spring training.
Sick players don't do that, just like healthy players don't do what Jackson did last year. Anyone who doesn't give him a free pass for his 2009 season is simply ignoring the facts.
Time for him to pick up where he left off on the upward slope of his natural progression. No, he won't hit 30 homers, but he might hit 20, and with his high contact rate and expected .300 batting average, that's enough to make him a must-start in Fantasy.

as a 12th keeper?
ill take it
you act as if in a 16 team league every team is gonna have 2 30+ homerun hitting outfielders

based on my ranking system i do think i have the best offense in the league
6 top 25 players, a top 6-7 catcher, nate mclouth and conor jackson, both have 20-20 potential. and ill find one bat off waivers and in the draft.
