am i the only one who loves ben simmons but thinks he'll put up numbers like a rebounding version of ricky rubio for like three to four years if not forever?
low fg percentage, low ft, but assists, rebounds, a steal, block and moderate points.
Why you think he'll have low FG?
He'll be around 50 if not over

because he can't shoot. and people will be playing him to drive and daring him to do so. and he's tall, but not particularly long, so people are going to try to make him finish, and he might struggle to do so.

i'd be shocked.

Toula knows it's on him. He is not IRT right now.

Lebron couldn't shoot either, neither can Giannis or DWade etc
Simmons will be a 47-50% guy by year 2. May take some adjusting in year 1.
You can't play off of him because that will create lanes to the goal. This isn't Zaza Pachulia.. He'll eat people alive
He's gonna live at the line too. If he can stay 70%+ he'll be fine

i don't think simmons is nearly as athletic as lebron or giannis or dwade. i don't think he's nearly as aggressive or as good a finisher.
i'm a fan of simmons. but i don't think he's gonna be the scorer that people want him to be. and specifically not on the 76ers where he's going to be a facilitator mostly. but dude, he really really really can't shoot. and what makes you think simmons will be 70+% from the line? is the pro line closer than the college line?
lebron had a funky jumpshot when he came into the league, but he was streaky and could get hot from outside. giannis still can't shoot, but is just so long and explosive it doesn't matter.

They aren't identical because Lebron & Wades strength puts them in a difference class but Ben is somewhere between Giannis & Lebron. He is a better ball handler & faster with the ball then Giannis is. And he is aggressive & isn't afraid to drive to the rim. I don't want to insult you BJL but I question how much you have actually watched of him

None of those guys are good shooters either. Simmons was 67% in 1 year of college. It's not far fetched that he improves

disagree. giannis takes like two steps and is across half court and then two steps and is dunking.

not insulted at all. but i saw simmons three times in person, and a bunch on tv. the strength of his game is his ball handling for his size and his passing acuity. he attacks when there's a lane, but he also isn't super aggressive as a scorer. he seems to prefer passing.
he is so much more likely to average 8+ assists than any of the things you're saying to me. hence why i said rubio.

the stats don't back that up generally. but maybe so.
i love simmons. but i think he maxes out a borderline all star level.

does knat know it's his turn?

Les has a good read on Ben. I'll get into it when I'm not hammered but he's going to put up those Draymond/Rondo top 30 type of stats with some 20 ppg upside down the road.

By Les has a good read on Ben you mean Les agrees with your read on Ben?
I don't think there is any chance that he is a bust because his skills are so unique for a player of his size and position. I admit that I have no idea where his career ends up, but I didn't see the offensive or defensive intensity in the games that I watched for him to put up Draymond defensive numbers or 20+ ppg offensive numbers. His Rebounds and Assists will be solid from the start.
