If we were doing a redraft today where would a 36-year-old Pau Gasol get drafted? I think he has 2 pretty good seasons left, but I think the San Antonio move actually hurts his value due to Pops propensity to rest his older guys. What kind of player would you want in return for him?

Idk.. I just looked at your team. Pau probably has more value on my team than others bc my team is set up with seasoned vets. IF they stay healthy, my team is set up to make a deep run into the playoffs. I'd move him for the right PG.

I have a feeling Duncan hangs them up.

n: With questions surrounding Tim Duncan and the possibility that he retires, the Spurs elected to pick up Gasol, who is a more than capable replacement. Gasol is expected to come in and start at center from the get go, meaning he should be able to post similar production to his 2015-16 campaign with the Bulls when he averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.0 blocks over 32 minutes per outing.
Should return solid value, no?

Plus, I think if Pau were worried about his treads, he wouldn't be playing for Spain this summer.

He has value for sure, I just didn't know what kind of player you wanted for him.
I think you will get more value moving him at the deadline to a team that needs him to chase a ship.

Also "Seasoned" is just a fancy way of saying old, but I respect your salemanship.

Well he opted in, and we are a few days in to FA
Doesn't seem like a Duncan move to string along his team when they could be spending his salary elsewhere

There's no way you believe this.

Ya shouldn't have to oversell a good player like Pau. Once you hit that oversell point, it cheapens his value

I saw somewhere that he may have opted in so that he could be a part of the Durant recruiting process. Not sure if there are rules against a player not signed with a team recruiting a player to a certain team, but if so that seems like something Duncan would do for the Spurs.
