Better than him texting me before his selection, "Tell me about this Durkic fella?"

MWG 2018 TDBA Mock Draft
- Mattyv (via Papp): DeAndre Ayton, C: It's a tough call at the top of the draft with several candidates possessing the ability to go with the top spot. However, with Matty ranking dead last in FG% and second to last in blocks, we feel Matty takes the 7-foot specimen from Arizona.
- Knat: Luka Doncic, G: Knat is in the early stages of his rebuild, trading off older vets last season. A quick look at his roster, and it's evident Knat is in need of a backcourt star to build around.
- Pct: Marvin Bagley, F : The word is out on Port in that he likes to swing for the fences, so we're not ruling out a trade sending him in the top two. But for the sake of this Mock Draft, we have him remaining at three and plucking perhaps the most NBA-ready prospect in this draft. While Bagley doesn't possess the defensive upside some of his fellow big men prospects, it's hard to ignore his offensive and rebounding college production.
- MWG: Jaren Jackson Jr., C : MWG is also known for his propensity to roll the dice on upside, but JJJ may possess the highest floor in this draft. A near 7-foot big man that averaged over 5 blocks per 40 MIN. in college while having the ability to stretch out to 3-point range. JJJ's defensive prowess give MWG another rim-protecting big to pair with Anthony Davis.
- None: Trae Young, G:: While there are numerous real-life concerns for Young, this is fantasy basketball, and we peg the sharpshooting Sooner to end up in a plum landing spot come Thursday. None was third worst in assists last season and was also near the bottom in 3s made.
- Frat: Mo Bamaba, C: a 7-foot, rim-running, 3-point shooting big man? Yes, please. Frat is another owner not afraid to swing for the fences, and hoo boy the fence is as long as the former Longhorn's 7-foot-10 wingspan.
- Florida T: Wendell Carter Jr., C: The real question with this selections is does FLT actually make an appearance for the draft? KIDDING! Carter is a steal at this point, and perhaps the second safest prospect behind his college teammate. Carter can pass, shoot with range and defend in space giving him strong fantasy appeal.
- Papps (via MattyV): Michael Porter Jr., F: Hope Nurkic was worth it. Papps drops down to eight after moving his pick to Matty last year. However, with such a deep draft, the Pappster still manages to snag a prospect with an elite skill set. The 6'10 swingman from the Northwest was the No. 2 prospect in his school class. Although MPJ was unable to live up to his HS billing in his two-game college stint, his offensive ability is just too much to pass up at eight.
- OG$: Mikal Bridges, F: G$ tends to lean on the side of familiarity, and with Bridges taking home two national championships in his collegiate career, there is no one in this draft G$ is more familiar with. That's not to take away from the skill that Bridges possesses. Bridges should be able to carve out an early role in the NBA with his 3-point shooting and defensive ability.
- Frat (via 21JS): Collin Sexton, G: Frat loves guards. I don't think there's any denying that. And with the 10th pick, Frat nabs the downhill driving Sexton from T-Town.
- Toula (via Boom): Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, G A perennial contender, Toula moves up in the draft a few slots after a savvy preseason trade. The inaugural champ rolls the dice on SGA's length and silky smooth finishing ability.
- Cwill: Jerome Robinson, G : CWill built his runner-up squad through the draft, and will look to build on his stout young core. CWilly is loaded on the wings and in the frontcourt, so we're pegging him to roll the dice on the scoring guard from BC.
- Tom (via MWG, via Boom, via Toula): Kevin Knox, F: DA CHAMP. Tom takes the sweet-stroking forward from Kentucky. One of the youngest players in the draft, Knox is a long-term pick, one a team as stout as Tom's can wait on.
- None (via Tom): Miles Bridges, F: Bridges is incredibly athletic for a player of his build. The springy Spartan also can shoot it from 3 and gives None a safe floor pick to round out the opening round.
