The trade we made last year "stacked the deck for you" (paraphrasing, I don't remember the exact words) against the others who were trying to compete. Then you get ousted in the 1st round and I got a 3rd round draft pick out of it.

I don't really understand the argument he's making. Can't everybody make those trades with struggling teams for their pieces? If there's a market, there's a chance to beat it. Not sure why he refuses to acknowledge the strategy involved by both sides.

I def like dynasty leagues, but wouldn't want every league I play in to be a dynasty. I like redraft leagues, too. The draft is a fun part of fantasy sports to me, and other than prospects you lose that in a dynasty. We do 8 keepers here, which means the draft pool has some talent. With 12 teams I wouldn't mind eventually going up to 9 or 10 keepers but I would be good with it staying how it is, too.

How do I refuse to acknowledge the strategy when I've used it to win this league twice?

I'm saying i don't like it as part of the game. I'd rather see teams win through the draft, free agency, player trades. Just a personal preference thing

As for the FAAB goes, it's a legitimate way to do free agents. Great. It doesn't mesh with a system where guys are getting 2-3 good players before the deadline for what equates to a 9th rd pick in the draft. It's like half legit

Maybe we should just submit all trade offers to you for approval.

Seems like you're the only one who has a problem how everyone else manages their team. 13 other owners didn't say a word.

I'm sitting with (2) 1st rd picks (2) 3rd rd picks etc. I've been doing it for years. So I gotta problem with how I manage my own team?

Like I said you're missing the big picture bubba

Interestingly enough, only 1 of the top 4 teams traded their 1st last year (Chat). VKC traded his and finished 6th. The other 2 that traded their 1st finished 13th and 12th out of 14th (G$ and Gyno).

No 2nd round picks were traded.

I think it's more of the 1 legit keeper for 2-3 good player trades that put teams over the top, but you're going to find that in any format.

Last year wasn't as bad for sure

That said multiple teams checked out early in this league

The previous year only two first were traded (VKC and Papz).

I really don't have a problem with it though. It's not like TDBBL where you only keep 5 and roster 15. In that league it was much easier to get at least 4 good keepers, load up on picks and make a run. We were selling 2-3 good, top 50ish guys for a 1st. That really isn't happening in this league.

And I will keeping the guy I traded my first for (Kenley Jansen). I think that was a fair trade.

No one gets stud for free. Contenders can get bargains on an SP3 or Util bat.

It's not the pick, it's the players in return. 2nd 3rd 4th etc are bringing in hauls. In a 14 team league with huge rosters, these are impact players

Anyways I was not even calling for the stoppage of that. I was simply pointing out why I didn't believe we should legitimize a portion of the league. The free for all, no holds barred type league is just what this league is. Which is why I said I'd vote to leave it.

There is no issue here

Meant more to reference the statement that you want the best team/owner to win. I think making those trades is more a part of the skill component than you do.

It's cool, your vote is what it is and nobody's mind is changing

I feel you.

Now is the time to put some proposals together to make changes.

with only 8 keepers and a huge roster, teams that are out of it have no motivation to hold on to any players other than the 8-10 possible keepers. So my point is, they have a lot of valueable players that aren't worth much to them, which consequently end up getting bundled for a pick. It usually never some hot negotiation at the end of the year. It's more like let's see what I can dump to acquire picks.

It's like the bar is closing and the only thing left to bring home is fat girls. The skill involved is buying em a drink at last call

Every offseason rule change has been the majority of the vote, I believe. In season requires 75% of the vote.
