I have the task this year of assigning two of last years teams to two new commissioners. However, the problem is that one team is absolutely the bottom of the barrel and the other team is pretty solid.

Last years teams will only be used to select one keeper from them.

Can anyone think of a good way, besides just picking out of a hat or a coin toss, to determine which of the new commissioners will get assigned two of the old teams?

have a number in your head 1-10 and ask them to guess what number you're thinking of. Closest one to it wins.

If there's only 1 keeper per team it shouldn't be a big difference of who gets the better team or not. It's not like they will be taking over an entire team.

Just do it randomly.

Yeah, with only 1 player being kept...shouldn't be too big of a deal. Let the team who gets the short end of the stick draft first overall or something?

Could you just let both guys pick whoever they want from either group of players.

Not sure how you could decide if they wanted the same guy... maybe a coin flip then.
