My first mock on yahoo picking at my spot in the real draft. I picked 12 overall and went for power. I'm also a little concerned with Miggy's age so I picked up a few first basemen. Thoughts?

1. Miguel Cabrera (Det - 1B)
2. Max Scherzer (Was - SP)
3. Trevor Story (Col - SS)
4. Daniel Murphy (Was - 1B,2B)
5. Kyle Schwarber (ChC - C,OF)
6. Matt Carpenter (StL - 1B,2B,3B)
7. Cole Hamels (Tex - SP)
8. Carlos Martínez (StL - SP)
9. Willson Contreras (ChC - C,OF)
10. Adam Duvall (Cin - OF)
11. Jeurys Familia (NYM - RP)
12. Kendrys Morales (Tor - 1B,OF)
13. Ben Zobrist (ChC - 2B,OF)
14. Yasmany Tomás (Ari - OF)
15. Víctor Martínez (Det - 1B)
16. Mike Napoli (Tex - 1B)
17. Raisel Iglesias (Cin - SP,RP)
18. Garrett Richards (LAA - SP)
19. Tyler Glasnow (Pit - SP)
20. Ian Kennedy (KC - SP)
21. Lance Lynn (StL - SP)
22. Héctor Rondón (ChC - RP)

seems you went with players with high upside. i wouldn't draft miggy first. story had a terrible k ratio so dunno how he will do

B...

You lack solid arms after your top 3. Not crazy about any of the guys you got on the back end. Like the way your started though.

Yeah I just wanted to see what the team would look like with high upside power bats.

I usually go for well balanced players but this is what mock season is about!

Why don't yall like Cabrera? He's Mr Consistent for like 10 years in a row!

I think Cabrera at 12 is nice.

Murphy in round 4 is nice. Schwarber kinda scares me, also think Story in the 3rd is rich. Overall you have a volatile roster. I would have taken a few more arms in 2 of the 3 spots you took Kendrys, Victor, and Nap. With Murphy and Carp having 1B eligibility those guys are overkill.

Yeah but Murphy and Carp are probably my everyday 2b and 3b

Edit and Morales is an OF in my eyes... so Napoli and Victor would rotate at Utility

That's what I was thinking when I drafted

And the thinking is I could trade one of these power 1B for pitching

With the way home runs are up, I don't think there will be a huge market for 1B who only help in 2 cats

I think you did pretty good with Cabrera at 12 then Scherzer back to back... then snake back with Story and Murphy for a solid middle inf...

The back end is a mess but with mocks I'm sure you aren't as vigilant and just want to get it over with...

I've never focused on saves. You can somewhat punt that category in the draft and find closers during the year that started as 8th inning guys.

Still Familia and Rondon probably have 35+ saves and Iglesias might win the closer job and has sick stuff
