I traded Kittle and 3rd Rd for Nick Chubb. I now have Kamara, Carson, Chubb, Swift as RB. I have Ertz as a TE. This is year 1 of our Dynasty PPR. I hated to trade Kittle, but feel like the trade allowed me to solidify RB/Flex roles and have more flexibility moving forward. Good deal?

Not bad

You should try and make a move for Goedert

It's good. Unless you are in TE premium the RB has more positional value, and you had redundancy at the TE position.

Siri, show me Chubb’s splits with and without Kareem Hunt

quote:

Browns Highest-Scoring RB by Week (PPR)

W1: Chubb
W2: Chubb
W3: Chubb
W4: Chubb
W5: Chubb
W6: Chubb
W7: BYE
W8: Chubb
W9: Chubb

~Kareem Hunt returns from suspension~

W10: Hunt
W11: Hunt
W12: Chubb
W13: Hunt
W14: Hunt
W15: Chubb
W16: Hunt
W17: Hunt

Chubb without Hunt: 19.7 PPG (was RB5 in this span)

Chubb with Hunt: 13.0 PPG (was RB23 in this span)

Target share went from 12% w/o Hunt; 5% with him

Granted Hunt will become a FA after this season, the question of split backfields and RB shelf life are always a question for the position. If they do it now, why not later

Positions nonwithstanding, I believe Kittle is a top 15 receiver with the chance to land in an even better spot with upcoming free agency

It’s not a bad deal if Chubb can free himself from a tandem RB situation

Solid point. I also traded a 2021 2nd Rd pick and Robert Woods for Godwin last night. Based on projections I am the favorite in every week with the exception of one. We are using Sleeper, which has been fantastic thus far.

I’d rather have Kittle

Even with regression, this is a solid trade.

I’m a big Bobby Woods fan, but Godwin is the winner here easily.

Some other advice.. research where 2018 rookies and 2019 rookies went in rookie drafts per ADP. Your league mates are not associating player value based off of rookie draft pick values, just start up. You may be able to get some really good value in trades.

I wouldn't have made that deal personally.

I think Ertz is getting close to seeing a downturn in production as he nears age 30 and Goedert continues to become more and more involved offensively. Could be a very steep drop off from Kittle who is at worst the second best TE in the game. With Kittle's skill set in that Niners offense, this could be the year that he gets 10 TD's to go with his 80+ catches and 1000+ yards.

Chubb is better in standard leagues than PPR leagues as he doesn't catch many balls. He's still a top 10 RB in PPR leagues to be clear, but with Hunt being eligible from the start of the season, Chubb could/should see at least some decline statistically as a result.

Even if everything I said turns out to be true, I don't think this deal is bad enough to cost you the league or anything. But if it were me, I would've rather kept Kittle and tried to move Ertz for a lesser RB than Chubb that also has the ability to solidify a flex position for you.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m honestly regretting the Kittle trade a little although I was able to acquire Kareem Hunt as well. My current roster looks like this:
Mahomes
Kamara
Chubb
Godwin
Golliday
Sutton
Ertz
Jefferson
Carson
Butker

*Hunt will play a lot in FLEX as well.

I have been able to keep or reacquire all draft picks thus far. With this being a Dynasty League my goal is to maintain a young, talented team and not rely much on picks initially. I want to win now/maintain dominance.
