Why should you go if there are 4 teams in the other division better? Not that that will happen but the divisions are pointless.
you can make the same argument for the nfl playoff system.

also why are you posing the question to me you are the commish?

eta: i'm pretty sure when you create the league you can make it with or without divisions, so that's on you homeslice.

I know I just duplicated everything but it doesn't say anything about division winners automatically getting in. It will happen of course but I'm not sure that if 4 teams in the opposite division were better, you would.

Doesn't matter to me, just need Drake to lose

ETA - Fear, you are absolutely right but still a pompous douche

REACHING THE PLAYOFFS The top four teams in a league make the playoffs. These four are comprised of the two division champs and two wild-card teams. Division champs are the teams that win the league divisions. The next two teams according to the tie-breaker below are the wild card teams.

You are correct, I have edited my above post

Good thing for me is I beat Drake in our only H2H so I will get in over him if we tie

i agree that divisions are pointless...makes no sense for one of the best teams to miss the playoffs to a team with a worse record because of random ordering at the beginning of the season.

however, this is how most fantasy leagues are set up (at least in my experience).

the playoff settings should have been set at the beginning of the season by the commissioner. *cough cough*

i enjoy the division rivalries and end of the season games for the division, so that's a bit different for me. but i get your point (having to go to Seattle in 2010 was a debacle).

...the division rivalry thing doesn't quite bring the same magic in fantasy sports though.

this was the last straw for me. not having to play them but having to go to fricking seattle a 7-9 team while we were sitting at 11-5 is just fricking horseshite

eta: maybe if they would make it to where the better record retains home field I would be ok with that because you are right about the rivalries.

...i think you have a better chance at CP3's spot. I'm in good shape this week, and i have TN09 next week....not to mention lowry's about to come on, duncan and bynum will be coming back, and millsap and favors are both gonna get a bump in minutes/production when Utah makes the trade.

look at total points scored. I'm in 2nd. CP3 is 3rd to last. His record is so good because of luck of the draw schedule-wise...he's more likely to lose down the stretch.

jmo.

yep. At 7-9, a playoff spot should be enough, but you get home field, too? ridiculous.

Saints/Falcons matchups are always great, and that Cowboys/Redskins game for the division/playoffs was great, too.

Here's my take -

Next year if i were you i would make it 6 teams in the playoffs and the top 2 seeds get byes.

I'm almost positive you can get rid of divisions too

I think this would solve some issues. It's just a suggestion

Next year...not this year.

This year, the whole time I was thinking if I was in 2nd in our division I would make the playoffs.
