At face value, it seems crazy to consider sitting Mahomes, but the stats beg the argument:

Mahomes vs Arizona- #7 passing defense, allowing 24 points and 367 total yards per game. According to Yahoo, Ari gives up the least points to the QB (15.95 ppg).

Brees @ Cincy- league-worst passing defense, allowing 30 points and 447 yards per game. According to Yahoo, Cincy gives up the 4th most points to the QB (27.8 ppg, Mahomes put up 40.8 on them in week 7)

Would you trust the stats and start Brees, or just bank on Mahomes continuing to play out of his mind?

I'm leaning hard to Brees.

Maybe not. Mahomes has had a favorable schedule vs pass defenses so far (greens and yellows if you know the Yahoo system). His only true challenge was against the Jags (2nd best against the pass) and he scored 15 fantasy points. Arizona is league-best against the QB per Yahoo.

Patrick Mahomes has 29 touchdown passes and 3,185 yards in 10 games, the most ever. He has gone over 300-yards in 8-straight tying Luck’s single-season NFL record. In four home games he’s thrown for 11 scores while averaging 322 yards a game. He takes on the best defense in fantasy football at holding down the quarterback.

quote:

We’re almost to the point where we’re starting to take him for granted to a degree since he plays a position with so many available options each week. Mahomes has now hit as a top-6 scorer in four straight games and has set a new career-high in passing yardage in three of his past four games. Arizona is tied in allowing a league-low nine touchdown passes on the season because teams are running the ball at will on them, but Mahomes and the Chiefs offense are the unit that has dictated matchups.

Drew Brees has 22 games, after last weeks effort, with four touchdowns and no picks to tied Tom Brady for the NFL record. He leads the league in completion percentage, QB Rating and QBR. He averaged 348 passing yards a game at home. He faces the fourth worst fantasy defense in football against the quarterbacks.

quote:

We have a spot with Brees on the road and outdoors, but the Bengals have just been too awful defensively to ignore. The Bengals rank 29th in passing points allowed per game (19.7) and the only games in which they allowed fewer than 319 yards passing to quarterbacks where to Ryan Tannehill and Cam Newton (who still was the QB3 that week). In four of their past five games, the Bengals have allowed 470, 358, 369 and 419 passing yards outside of that game versus Tannehill.

Bengals are a MASH unit for QBs, but Im playing Mahommes at home. Hes just been too productive.

If this isnt a 2 QB league try and trade one for another asset.

It's not easy. I'm "stuck" with two good fantasy QBs because there's just been so many times emerging guys there and people prefer streaming. shite I asked for John Brown this week, sending Rodgers and got turned down.

The Saints will run the ball a lot in this game. They will try to control the clock and keep the Bengal offense off the field. I would not be surprised if this were a down game for Brees stat wise. Start Mahomes.
