Kalif Raymond a thing?

He’s been balling but the precedent of a veteran emerging this late in their career on a team where you are technically the 3rd or 4th option historically isn’t great. Are we dropping Godwin or MHJ for him? Thinking Godwin right now idue to the QB situation but I feel like as soon as I pick him up, he will remember he is Kalif Raymond…

Godwin has looked bad, Tampa has looked bad, and the QB situation is gonna be gross for a few weeks. Think I'd rather take a shot on Raymond for higher upside.
I know this isn't exactly apples to apples with draft capital and age of the players, but remember everybody was hesitant to buy into Michael Wilson and Parker Washington because they were relative unknowns and not technically supposed to be outperforming the supposed #1 alpha WRs in front of them. But sometimes you gotta take a leap of faith that something might be a trend before it becomes too obvious to everybody else.
He's getting a lot of targets in a coveted Ben Johnson offense. So it's not like these were outliers where he had one catch for a long TD. Odunze has had a lot of drops and been pretty putrid dating back to halfway thru last season, so it's possible he's just dropped in the pecking order. Loveland has been a total non-factor. Burden has had one good game. I wouldn't argue that Raymond is the clear cut #1 option for that team, but I guess my point is that there is NO clear cut #1 on that team, so it's worth taking your shots

Raymond isn't really quite the same as parker washington. Dude has been in the league for about 10 years, so I have my doubts he's suddenly an alpha WR. Just not quite buying his production continues with the other weapons they have in that offense. Probably largely a beneficiary of a banged-up WR room to start the season. I think this is his peak, don't see a ton of upside.
MHJ is looking like a flop but if I drafted him in re-draft, I'm still holding and hoping for a turnaround. He wasn't that expensive as far as ADP goes, so you may as well hold.
if you want raymond, I'd cut a back up QB, TE, or handcuff RB before Harrison. Raymond could end up outscoring him....but that probably means neither are guys you want in your starting lineup weekly. I'll hold the lotto ticket over bye week replacement player.

Absolutely, that's why I said it's not exactly apples to apples. I just mean that we all assume it can't continue because there's bigger names in front of him and the cream will eventually rise to the top. But it's not always the case. 3 games isn't a HUGE sample size, but so far, it looks very concerning for all of the other receiving options in that offense that were thus far massively over-hyped.
As for OP's question though, I definitely rather Raymond over Godwin.

Burden looked better this week, probably starting to get healthy from his camp injury.
Odunze was balling for a bit last season but hasn't looked the same since that injury.
You have to figure Loveland gets going at some point though.
I'm just not buying Raymond as a thing yet....could be wrong. You'd basically need him to sustain his target rate all season to feel good about starting him because the yds and TDs aren't really there. Pure PPR scammer right now

Thing about Raymond is he knows Ben Johnson’s O.

I agree with all of that which is why I was hesitant. Ended up picking him up and dropping Godwin who is the end of my bench basically. Have Warren and Kincaid at TE and Shough and Mahomes at QB and I’m not dropping any of them. And there are a few flex spots I need those guys for. The idea was upgrading my bench WRs. My starters are Pickens, Devonta, and DJ Moore
