I have no problem with this, with the understanding that in upcoming offseasons, a player can remain on the DL during the offseason if he ended the year on the MLB DL. I don't think its fair to have a player get a serious injury in August, be out for 10 months, and not be able to fill that spot in the offseason. And we need to put in writing that minor league players aren't DL eligible.
I think this is fine
And for james sheilds, 4 ERA in 218 inter league innings, top 7 worst ERA vs teams are all NL teams
KC and TB were nice pitchers parks too btw. Food for thought

Oh me too. I expect much of the same, just not a sub 3 or anything
May get a slight uptick in K

Yap
The ballpark ultimately doesn't matter that much to me.
Going to the NL to get the uptick in Ks is what I really like. Maybe upwards to 8/K9 rather than his low 7/K9 that he produced last season -- especially as he gets older.

i still say cut the DL spot down to 1 in the offseason. Being able to keep a guy on the DL that ended the year there on a minor injury is bullshite in itself.
Now imagine if you have 3 guys like that.

Well i feel that it would be bigger bullshite to not be able to DL two guys if you have 3 guys with Tommy John surgery. And don't say it isn't possible. Ask Earl.

We need to get this resolved pronto...I need to add Nate Schierholtz!

I have 2 guys myself. If they are still injured going into the next season, you will be able to put them on the DL when they are designated. Dont see the big deal in that at all. Why do you need those roster spots when there are no games?

Why should you have to fight 19 other teams for a player when yours has been hurt the entire offseason????
I sure as shite don't feel like getting into a pissing match about this, but I don't think you are being reasonable on this small detail.

I have Beachy who is DL eligible (IMO) and I would like the opportunity to move him there and add a player before someone else does.

why should you be able to roster an extra player all offseason because Jon Doe finished the season on the 15 day DL? That makes even less sense
Especially in a dynasty league where its open season 365 to add and drop players. Freeze the DL list, but everything else is on going. It's just dumb, and i dont think its a small detail when there is that big of a loophole, AND 3 DL spots.

Well then there needs to be some kid of rule. Like only guys on 60 day DL can be kept there. Or drop it down to only 1 DL spot in the offseason. Something like that. To just be able to keep anyone on the DL doesnt make sense.

I need Myers or Kemp to go down
That outfield right now

Seriously.
If Jon Doe is not on the DL when opening day hits, then I have to drop someone. What difference does it make? Its not like I am accumulating stats with an extra player. I don't think its necessarily ok to pull a stunt like that, but in order to be consistent, a concession needs to be made.
The harm your idea does to players with a long injury is greater than the good that my idea does to the team that has a minor injury.

because you can add guys year round. What if a guy on my team losses his job? Or he gets traded? Or someone signs as a free agent and a job opens up for another person?
Im not just talking guys on rosters already, but Free agents too. guys like Steven Souza or Keirmeier for the Rays this year. They arent great players, but look to be solid. Overnight they became roster worthy. If i wanted them, id have to drop someone. But someone that was able to roster a 15 Day DL guy has an open roster spot. They can hold both and monitor things up until opening day?

id say its pretty neutral since no games are being played.

That works both ways dude. If only 1 DL spot is allowed in the offseason, and I have 2 guys out with serious injuries, and one of those above things happens, I'm essentially fricked the same way that you think you might be in your scenario.

Would be nice if others weighed in on this. I am sick as shite and I'm headed home to sleep it off.
