50 pages in an offseason. Undoubtedly the best league I’ve ever been a part of.

Oh no not taking it personally at all. I am just intrigued by the situation

Mikolas posts the 2nd best Japan ERA and WHIP to Yu. Interesting

quote:

Mikolas struck out 25% and walked 3% of hitters last year, producing a 22% K-BB% mark that, among the aforementioned Japanese aces, was bested only twice (once each by Tanaka and Darvish, both in 2011). That’s good. That’ll do. Darvish, Tanaka and Maeda have produced career K-BB% marks of 20.7%, 19.0% and 18.5%, respectively, so this seems to bode well for Mikolas.

these numbers are spun comping Mikolas to Maeda based off Maeda's Jap numbers to MLB numbers transtion. There are similarities to the two in Japan

NEIFI is similar to ZiPS

quote:

Congrats, Cardinals. Per NEIFI, Mikolas handily outperforms Jake Arrieta over next three seasons. Massive bargain, fantastic bet to be the most underrated FA of 2017 class.

Staring at my roster spreadsheet every morning without anything changing on it is getting tiresome...

I guess they figure he's just a September call-up.

I would bet against that.

Yeah, unless his control issues come up again, he'll be up before then.

15. Woodruff
22. Mahle
34. Stewart
40. Bader
58. Phillips

I’d have Phillips over Bader. Maybe Stewart too depending on how long they keep him in AAA. Phillips might be in the lineup on opening day. Bader still needs to be traded.

Head scratching on Carson Kelly. I know he’s a higher prospect on every list, but I can’t see him getting significant playing time without a Yadi injury.

Then again i didn’t think Rhys would get called up before I traded him.

Brewers have a bunch of OF options, so maybe that's why? Hell, the Cardinals do too though.

Could be better... could be worse.

I think Ryan Cordell and Frank Schwindel have an argument for this list, but the rest of my guys are too far out for a potential 2018 impact.

I think Winker is going to surprise people with more power than expected to go with his OBP skills.
