Eight owners currently logged into Fantrax. I smell some wheelin and dealin.
ETA: Half the league has paid so far.

what will be the course of action for the deadbeats that don't pay by Monday morning?

Draft is put on hold and those owners will not have access to their teams until they pay.

Just set a calendar reminder for 7:55 AM on Monday morning to pay up.

Finally made it to Tin Roof and you weren't there. Of course your life is pretty much over anyway.

I haven't worked there since last April. I do still drop in from time to time to drink though.

I can ride my bike there, but for some reason I don't. I plan on getting over there more often.

but why?
Their beer is pedestrian at best.

I'd prefer Parish and others, sure. But they make a few good ones and they play up on tap at the brewery. Plus they have some rotating stuff that doesn't make it to shelves. I'm sure you'd wander over there if it was walking distance from your house.

It's no Parish, but it's also a shite ton closer to my house.

I just applied for my Ace checking preferred card today. I’ll be approved in time to get my check cashed and a money order to Redd hopefully by tomorrow.

The first season of the Votto league I got caught up one something and missed the first hour of the online auction draft. My team was really REALLY bad.

A prominent Major League Baseball agent said Friday that a "fight is brewing" over the lack of free-agent activity in the game this offseason, and said a spring training boycott might be on the horizon if teams don't begin signing players soon.
Agent Brodie Van Wagenen of Creative Artists Agency stopped short of using the word "collusion" but said the behavior of owners "feels coordinated, rightly or wrongly."
quote:
"Bottom line, the players are upset. No, they are outraged. Players in the midst of long-term contracts are as frustrated as those still seeking employment. Their voices are getting louder and they are uniting in a way not seen since 1994."
quote:
Rhetoric from the players' side has grown increasingly more combative as spring training approaches. Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen told reporters, "Maybe we need to go on strike, to be honest with you," during the team's recent fan festival. Van Wagenen, similarly, said owners are testing the players' resolve with their lack of offseason spending.
"I would suggest that testing the will of 1,200 alpha males at the pinnacle of their profession is not a good strategy for 30 men who are bound by a much smaller fraternity," Van Wagenen said. "These 1,200 players have learned first-hand that battles are won through teamwork, and they understand that championships can't be achieved by individuals. They are won by a group united by a singular focus. Victory at all costs. They are willing to sweat for it; they are willing to sacrifice for it; they are willing to cry for it; and most importantly, they are willing to bleed for it."

I think you can attribute that to most of the players being represented by Scott Boras.

I think it's a weak FA group and teams' management have gotten smarter about chasing free agents.
