First time playing Fantasy Baseball and I’m way over my head
I’ve only played Fantasy Football in the past, and I joined a Rotisserie style league with a NL/AL combined player pool.

I understand how Rotisserie works, but I’m still super confused. In my league, you can draft minor league players and draft picks and stuff.

Any general advice or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Don't trade Mike trout if you get him

So it’s a keeper league, so I’d want to avoid drafting older players right? Acuña and Soto will be top picks right?

Sure, but lots of keeper owners can be ageist, and you can get guys for cheaper than they should be of their age. Of course, you are probably riding them until the wheels fall off, but it can be a good value.

If it is first time, then just rely on some keeper rankings a little bit more until you get the hang of it.

I don't know what type of team you are taking over, but you also may not be in a great position to win this year (if this is dynasty or a larger keeper league). I just would not rush to make a bunch of moves while you are still new.

When we firing up VIAC, VKC?

Also, to OP: Learning fantasy baseball would be much easier for you in a standard 5x5 format (no keepers/dynasty). But if you have no choice there are posters here who can give you good advice on the decisions you'll be facing.

I will get an offseason thread rolling by this weekend at the latest.

Forget prospects. Grab the best players available and win the ship this year. Once you learn how to manage a dynasty team, you can start collecting prospects when you sell your older players.

Good luck!

Good luck. That 1st year is painful. It takes a good 2 seasons to get competitive.

Be extremely patient. Work the waiver wire but don't get trigger happy when a decent player is slumping for a few weeks. You have to ride it out unlike fantasy football.
