Fantasy Football Etiquette Question

What are y'all's thoughts on working the waiver wire even when your team is eliminated? I mean in redraft obviously.
I am a big believer in never giving up. Even when I am out of contention, but is this considered a jerk move? Especially in money leagues. I was even eliminated from the toilet bowl last week and I am still making moves to better my team.
I also don't believe in being polite when it comes to Fantasy Football.
Such as taking advantage of hogging certain positions etc. I think anything within the rules should go outside of purposely dropping elite players once you are eliminated.
Any other examples of questionable fantasy managing behavior?

If you have no more games to play then stay off the waiver wire. As long as you are playing, even in the consolation bracket, then it's free game.

I appreciate that input. I think that is fair, but definitely interested in other opinions.
One thing I noticed is the top two teams left are not making any moves. Their teams are obviously doing well, but the team battling for 3rd is very active. Probably trying to win the 3rd place prize given how our payment is structured.

Wait for waivers to clear to pick up players if eliminated from contention. If there are winnings for 3rd, that's still in play for those 2 teams.

These are the types of things that need to be ironed out before the season.. we are having the same issue in my league. Commish said we have to play with the rules that are established right now and discuss in the future, but i tend to lean with the ones that posted in this thread. If you still have games going on, you should still be able to pull players - I’d be willing to meet everyone halfway and say that once you are eliminated from the main playoffs, only pick players up after Wednesday and give the final contenders top pick
I should also note that we use the silver bracket playoff to determine the worst overall finisher

All non playoff team rosters should be locked.

I'm in a league that pays out a weekly 1st and 2nd high scorer, and the commissioner bans all teams eliminated from playoff contention from the waiver wire. If there is money to be won, I think it's really shitty to not allow someone an attempt to field their best team in order to win that money. It has been brought up in the offseason, but he wont change the rule.

We pay weekly high score through the championship week, regardless of playoff status.
Keeps everyone involved all season, and keeps the waiver wire actions the same as all season long instead of zero competition for players.
