When will we find out our draft position? Also, how will payout works? If we could put all that in original post that would be awesome! Thanks for putting this together!

Still ironing out details about stuff like payout structure I think. After everyone signs up we can try to get some polls going on the sleeper app to figure out some details. Maybe some details need to be an executive decision and such.
As for draft order, I imagine order is determined whenever draft is started on sleeper if we can use a slow draft function there.

Good deal! Thanks! I’m excited! I love dynasty leagues

Either that or we can use a draft order generator elsewhere

I can't figure out how to post a message on sleeper or how to do a poll
We have a few things to decide, but let's start with how many playoff teams? It's currently set to 6.

I'll look at it when I get home to see if I can figure it out.

It was really easy to setup a poll on the sleeper app

I say 7 with top regular season team getting a bye. I just don't like the idea of more than half teams making the playoffs. It starts to feel like the regular season loses meaning and consequence, and it's all about getting lucky at the end of the season.

I usually agree with that but in dynasty 8 actually isn’t terrible (as long as we’re talking 14 teams) like it would be in just a redraft league.
If a team is stuck at the bottom they can lose interest really quickly which drags the whole league down. But with 8 teams making the playoffs it gives everyone a little bit of hope and keeps everyone active and hopefully trading. Dynasty leagues absolutely suck if no one is open to trading.
But 7 is solid too, I just think 6 is too few.
Is this going to be a top half bottom half scoring league?

I could go either way on this. The other TD league I'm in is. It has its advantages, but there's also something to be said about the fun of head to head match ups. There's also the combination method where a win/loss is given both for head to head and against the league average. So each week you can go 0-2, 1-1, or 2-0. Apparently it's a setting that sleeper offers, according to google. I guess once you get to playoffs it switches to head to head?

Also, posting polls on the sleeper app is really easy. You pull up the chat by pushing the ribbon on the bottom of the screen up then you press the "+" button to the left of the dialog box to bring up the option to post a poll. This is on android.

Ah good call. I’ve heard talk of this but never actually done it. I’d be down to try for sure

Explain this top half bottom half scoring please

Instead of head to head matchups the top (in our league's case) 7 scorers in a week are given a win, and the bottom 7 are given a loss. The idea is to reduce the luck factor that comes with head to head matchups and just having a bad matchup at the wrong time.
We've all heard the story or had it happen to us where you score the second highest points in a week, but you just happened to get matched up against the team that scored the most points that week. Whereas another team had a much worse week than you but just happened to play a team that did even worse. Still, you get a loss and the worse team gets a win. Maybe you get unlucky and this happens several times in a season, and you wind up out of the playoffs despite having one of the better rosters. This is probably a rare occurrence, if it even really happens much at all without other explanation, but regardless a top half/bottom half system eliminates this potential situation.
There are some drawbacks, like it smoothes results and takes away some of the excitement of the randomness, but it's also probably more fair. Also, some say that it takes away trash talk and rivalry of a head to head matchup, but others argue that it actually intensifies it because it's a free for all situation against everyone every week. Personally, I think it does take away some from the rooting against your opponents players aspect because for most of Sunday there's too many factors going on to pay attention to other teams' players, and when you get down to the end of the week where you can figure out specific things to root for your team's fate is probably already decided unless you happen to be one of the teams in the middle that week.
I do like the idea of trying the hybrid system for this league.

Who has yet to join the league?

I voted
7 playoff teams
Combination of both for wins/losses
Never done it but I wouldn’t mind giving it a shot
