Yes, what this man said.

Damn Kash, you been doing those brain exercises?

Although let's say your stud gets injured after scoring 200, then the guy who takes his place scores 100 for the rest of the season... total 300.

well if the replacement player scores 200 for the whole season and the injured player scores 200 before the injury then one of your RB scores will be 200 instead of the 300 it would have been if we only allowed injured starters to be replaced...

Well, that's kinda the point of setting this against the terms of best draft. I just drafted McFadden. History says he's going to get hurt, I know this, but I gambled on him having a productive year instead of taking a ppr monster like Welker.

Picking someone off of waivers to replace him doesn't have any bearing on the draft. It just means I had the best waiver position at the time to pick who I thought might be the best option post draft.

just take highest scorer of the year for each position and add it up in a qb/rb/rb/wr/wr/te/flex/k/d=total points?

This is a good idea, IMO. Still get credit for a sleeper that goes off.

Also, injuries won't kill a team's chances

Go with kashs idea all day. Like swami said it's a draft competition.

true...a strategy may be draft DMAC and Reese....DMAC #1 rb when healthy...but if he goes down Reese your #1(historical production)

My system wouldn't account for this dynamic and would be kinda unfair for someone who drafted Murray/Dmac/Spiller...et al who usually miss a game or 10

if one of your top RB (or whatever position) scorers is injured, allow the remaining weeks to be replaced by the highest scorer for those weeks...

Your idea is the best though. I wouldn't sweat the handcuff issue people do that anyway. Plus I don't see how half a season of each is worth fretting over.

and if they miss weeks 6-10, 13?
plug their highest scoring back-up those weeks?
getting a little complicated....."he had a Q-tag, I knew he would't have a full workload, I would have plugged in my back-up who went off that week"

Either do Kash's idea, but on a weekly basis or do his idea and allow the next highest position scorer to add to the injured players score he accumulated over the healthy weeks.

true, so lets do your idea but take the highest scorer on a weekly basis...

optimal line up weekly score, then total that each week.

weekly highest scorer?

same as before, just we count highest qb/rb/rb/wr/wr/f/t/k/d each week

week 1
1. PCT 250
2. Kash 36 (everyone of my starters IR'd)
3. OBU 176
4. Amos 134
5. CQQ 98
6. Drew 110
7. Wise guy 230
8. Dro 250
9. Broduer 85
10. St Aug 190
11. Gyno 288
12. Swamie 210

week 2

Kash highest remaining players(bench/back-ups drafted, QB2) scored 180...I get 36+180

RB CJ Spiller
WR AJ Green
WR Andre Johnson
TE Jason Witten

There is a HUGE fall-off after the first 3 TEs this year. Witten is in the top tier year in and year out despite always falling in drafts. Aside from Tony Gonzalez he is one of the most reliable TEs in the league as far as staying healthy. The guy played with a lacerated spleen last year. If he catches 1 more TD last year, he is the highest scoring TE in a PPR so even though he is 30 he still has upside if he catches more than 3 TDs.

Also I still feel like I can wait for a RB. There isn't much value out there right now.

Good pick. I like Witten. I'm really more curious though to see what your RB look like 16 and 23 picks from now.
